Four prisoners on the loose after escaping Kgoši Mampuru Correctional facility

Parktown South African Police Services (SAPS) have launched a massive manhunt after four prisoners awaiting trial escaped from the Kgoši Mampuru Correctional centre in the early hours of Saturday.


In a statement issued by Gauteng SAPS Captain Mavela Masondo, it is stated that the four dangerous escapees are wanted for the crimes they had committed and were charged with.


The escapees, as their names are mentioned below, were facing the following charges at the time of the incident.


Morris Tyavana was in custody for armed robbery, Medicine Girenzi for housebreaking and theft while Amos Chikwange and Sam Hlungwane were charged with theft.


Masondo says anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of the suspects is urged to contact the nearest police station or Crime Stop on 08600 10111. Information can also be given via MySAPS App.
